AM: Average Audience Average Audience The average audience (or average audience rate) of an event (programme, advertising slot, channel, time slot, etc.) is the arithmetic mean of the cumulative audience for the different units of time measured. Depending on the accuracy of the survey, this may be a second, a minute or a quarter hour (in this case, we say average quarter hour). This indicator is interpreted as the average number of viewers/listeners during the event. It can be calculated by finding the ratio of Individual Viewing Time (IVT) for the event and the event duration. PDA: Audience Share Audience Share The audience share, or market share of an event (programme, advertising slot, channel, station, etc.) is the ratio of the average audience for that event and the average audience for the media over the same time slot. This gives an indicator of the relative performance of a channel or station relative to their competitors. During the survey period of January–March 2026, running from December 29, 2025, to March 29, 2026, the news was marked by events likely to have an impact on radio listening habits:
On January 1, on New Year’s Eve, A fire at a bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, claimed the lives of about 40 people, including nine French nationals, and left more than 100 injured.
On January 3, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was captured by the United States during a U.S. operation in Caracas.
On January 9, Russia fired an Orechnik ballistic missile at Ukraine.
On January 29, Donald Trump announced that Vladimir Putin had agreed to a temporary suspension of strikes on Kyiv and other cities.

From February 6 to 22, the Winter Olympics took place in Milan-Cortina, Italy, followed by the Paralympics from March 6 to 15.
On February 22, Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan killed and wounded dozens of civilians.

On February 28, the United States, in coalition with Israel, launched a large-scale offensive on Iranian soil, dubbed “Operation Epic Fury,” during which Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed. In retaliation, Iran announced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
