Find out more .Automatic collection of radio listening data data Digital data Find out more from January 5 to March 29, 2026, from a permanent panel panel A sample from which information is collected over time. It can be questioned several times at regular intervals. This method is pertinent for studying changes in behaviour. The sample can be questioned continuously: - either: each individual in the panel is asked to fill in a daily questionnaire relating to the subject of the study. This is the case for the Radio panel. - or the information is recorded and returned regularly. This is the case for the Médiamat panel. This method is pertinent for understanding behavioural patterns and their changes if the panel lasts long enough. Find out more of approximately 6,000 individuals aged 13 and older equipped with a miniature Audience Meter Audience Meter A device for measuring the audience of radio or television programmes. Audience meters automatically register whenever a TV or radio is switched on or off, as well as each change of channel, and each time recorded content is played on the decoder, or catch-up / preview services are viewed. They also allow for individual audience measurement via a remote control with push buttons; each member of the household has their own button which they use to state their presence in the room. This Audience Meter, worn continuously by panellists, identifies radio listening throughout the day using Watermarking Watermarking The technology used in television and radio audience measurement. Watermarking consists of inserting an (audio) tag into broadcasts that is inaudible to the human ear. This tag identifies the channel airing the programme, as well as regular markers of the broadcast time. Audience meters installed in panellist homes detect these signals. Find out more technology. This technology involves inserting an inaudible mark containing the station’s identifier into the station’s audio signal.
This mark is detected by the Audience Meter worn by panellists and allows the station being listened to be identified. Location beacons are also installed in the panellists’ households to determine the listening location (at home or out of home out of home Since 30 March 2020, for individuals aged 15 years and older, Médiamat has included the audience of television programmes viewed outside the home and whilst on the move on television sets, computers, smartphones and tablets. This includes, for example, audience viewing with relatives or friends, or else in a second home, hotel, holiday rental, workplace, bar, restaurant, train station, airport, public place, car, train, bus, etc. Find out more ).
