Médiamétrie Launches the Social Media Observatory

Chatting, staying informed, having fun, shopping… today, more than ever, social media shapes behaviors, habits, and purchasing decisions. Previously carried out on the web, most of these activities now take place on social media—to keep in touch with loved ones, find entertainment, and stay informed about current events.

The Social Media Observatory analyzes 10 social media platforms* to identify, measure, and understand the profiles, behaviors, habits, and tendencies of individuals on these platforms.
Leisure, Travel, Sports, Ecology, DIY**, humor… 19 themes are studied to understand the evolution of user behaviors and practices.

Among the behaviors studied, the Observatory specifically analyzes how individuals search for information—of any kind—using traditional search engines, apps, specialized websites, social media, and artificial intelligence tools.
