Joint Audience

An audience behaviour where, within a single household, two or more people watch or listen together to the same programme. In the Médiamat panel, the joint audience indicator quantifies the audience share generated within a single household by several people simultaneously watching the same television. Calculating this indicator requires a reference target, then the other members of the household with whom one wishes to measure this joint audience. Example: the joint audience of female primary household shoppers with children younger than 15 years old. Joint audience is expressed in minutes, and then is also reported in average rate and in audience share.
