CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties)

An independent administrative authority created in 1978, composed of a pluralist college of 17 commissioners, coming from various backgrounds (4 parliamentarians, 2 members of the Economic and Social Council, 6 representatives of the high courts, 5 qualified personalities appointed by the President of the National Assembly (1), by the President of the Senate (1), by the Council of Ministers (3)). The term of office of its members is 5 years.
