Channel

A range of frequencies for broadcasting a television signal consisting of audio and video components that can be multiplexed into a data stream (multiplex). This range of frequencies is consolidated under a channel number. In the case of the UHF band (300 MHz to 3 GHz) used for Digital Terrestrial Television, a channel occupies 8 MHz and carries a multiplex of 5 to 6 TV channels.
