Médialocales - September 2019 - June 2020 (outside lockdown)

Press release
Radio audience in France's cities, départements (counties) and regions

Médiamétrie is publishing radio audience figures for the period from September 2019 to June 2020 (outside lockdown) in the regions, covering 72 départements (counties) and 97 cities.

Local and regional character is reflected through the medium of Radio because of the history of these locations, the rich variety of programming on offer and the socio-demographic structure of the populations. Of the 12 regions, Pays-de-la-Loire leads the way with a cumulative audience of 83.7%, followed by Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (81.6%) and 3 regions tied in 3rd place: Brittany, Normandy and New Aquitaine (80.4%).

The Médialocales wave running from Monday 2 September 2019 to Saturday 20 June 2020 was interrupted between Tuesday 17 March 2020 and Saturday 9 May 2020. The “post-lockdown” period, running from Monday 11 May 2020 to Saturday 20 June 2020, was marked by exceptional living conditions resulting from the health crisis and gradual measures to ease the lockdown. This period was therefore unprecedented for Radio audiences. These conditions may have impacted radio station audiences differently over the course of these 6 weeks, depending on the profile of their listenership and their mode of consumption.
