Nearly 8.5 million people listen to the radio every day on digital media.

Close to 41 million French people aged 13 and over listen to the radio every day. This audience, which is measured in the EAR > National survey, takes into account all listening devices, both those dedicated to radio and digital devices.

The EAR > Global Radio module can be used to analyse digital radio listening behaviour.

Radio is strengthening its presence on digital media: every day, 15.5% of the population listens to the radio on a digital device, or 8.5 million listeners (nearly 650,000 more listeners in 1 year).

Mobile phones were still the top digital device used to listen to the radio, with 5 million people using this method every day, which represents more than 600,000 listeners gained in 1 year.


Radio audiences also continue to grow on voice-controlled speakers, which attract almost 1.1 million listeners every day, which represents more than 200,000 additional listeners in 1 year.

Listening to the radio on digital media is particularly popular among 25-49 year-olds (21% of them listen to the radio on digital media), people in the upper SPCs (22.9%) and residents of the Greater Paris Region (20.7%).

On digital devices, the listening time was 2 hours 12 minutes on average per day and per listener.

The share of digital media in radio listening is increasing significantly: it now accounts for 17.2% of total listening volume, compared to 15.4% last year.
