Kantar will use the RateOnAir technology developed by Médiamétrie for the benchmark radio audience measurement in Sweden.

The automated audience measurement of the national radio stations will be based on a panel of 1,500 individuals who are continually equipped with a RateOnAir personal portable audience meter. Through the use of watermarking technology to recognise which radio stations are being listened to, the audience meter identifies all of the panellists’ radio listening sessions throughout the day, including podcasts. Kantar chose this technology to measure radio audiences regardless of location, device or time of day, starting in 2020.
